U.S. intelligence has assisted Ukrainian forces in killing many Russian generals who died in the conflict with Ukraine, reported the New York Times on Wednesday. The report cited senior U.S. officials.

The newspaper reported that Washington provided details to Ukraine on Russia's troop movements, as well as the location of Russia's mobile military headquarters. Ukraine combined this information with its own intelligence to launch artillery attacks against Russian officers.

The White House and Pentagon were asked for comment but they did not respond.

According to the New York Times, Ukrainian officials claimed that they had killed 12 Russian generals on battlefield. The newspaper reported that U.S. officials refused to give details about how many generals were killed by American intelligence.
