The current owners, former Bear Stearns executive Robert Steinberg and his wife Suzanne, have been trying to sell the Connecticut mansion since 2014, when they first listed it for $54 million.

The couple purchased the home for $15 million in 1998 from Ivana Trump, who received the property during the divorce.

"The pricing has been addressed and the market has improved," listing agent Rob Johnson told Insider. "Hopefully those two things will come together to give us some more positive results."

The 5.8-acre property also includes guest suites and "generous staff accommodations," the listing says, allowing the opportunity for a "multi-generational compound."

Perched on the tip of a peninsula, the home overlooks the Long Island Sound and comes with a deep water dock.

21 Vista Drive was originally constructed in 1939 and has since undergone several additions and renovations.

Vaulted ceilings of over 20 feet are on display in one of the home's several living and dining areas.

Potential buyers will likely be "split down the middle" on whether they choose to renovate or rebuild the current home, Johnson said.

The current price of $29.9 million really reflects the "land value" of the property, he added.

"If you want waterfront and you want privacy, a lot of the times it's mutually exclusive," Johnson told Insider. "With this property it's not — you can have both."
